Is Pear NYC a property management company?
No. Pear NYC is a licensed real estate brokerage. Our business is leasing units for owners. There is an affiliated management company, Yak Management, and we would rather tell you that upfront than have you discover it later — but the two engagements are separate and you can hire one without the other.
What neighborhoods does Pear NYC cover?
We lease across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. Our depth is greatest in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Bushwick, Williamsburg, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and Prospect Heights. Outside those, we will tell you honestly whether we are the right firm for your building.
Do you also work with renters?
Yes — that is most of where our reviews come from. Renter-facing work lives on pearnyc.com. This site is only for owners and management companies. Under the FARE Act, when we are hired by an owner we cannot charge that owner's tenant a fee, and we do not.
